COUNTING SONGS & RHYMES

WAGON COUNTING GAME

I have a little wagon,
I pull around with me.
I fill it with toys,
So everyone can see.

I put in a toy
And when that is done,
I give it a ride –
My wagon has one.

I put in another toy,
That makes two.
Giving toys rides
Is fun to do!

CLAP & COUNT
Tune: “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”

Clap, clap, clap your hands,
Clap them one, two three.
The more you clap,
The more you count
All the way to three!
Adapted Traditional

TWO RED APPLES

Two red apples up in the tree.
One for you and one for me.
I shook the tree as hard as I could.
Down fell the apples, mmm they were good!

HOT CROSS BUNS

Hot cross buns!
One a penny,

Hot cross buns!

THREE LITTLE KITTENS

One little, two little, three little kittens.
Each one wearing brand new mittens.
They each lost one, now they’re knitting
Three more kitten mittens.

TWO LITTLE BLACKBIRDS
Two little blackbirds sitting on a hill,
One named Jack, one named Jill.
They built a nest, and now you’ll see
Three little blackbirds up in a tree.
Adapted Traditional

HICKORY, DICKORY, DOCK
Hickory, dickory, dock.
The mouse ran up the clock.
The clock struck one,
And down he came.
Hickory, dickory dock.

Hickory, dickory, dock.
The mouse ran up the clock.
The clock struck two,
And down he flew.
Hickory, dickory, dock.
Adapted Traditional

DOWN BY THE STATION
Down by the station, early in the morning,
See the big trains, all in a row.
See the station master pull a little handle.
One, two, three, four, off they go!
