Seeing cherry Jello boxes on the table, Karen asked,
“What’s the Jello for? I replied, “We’re going to make
Jello for George Washington’s Birthday.”
Karen looked at me and asked, “Are we going to eat it,
or are we going to send it to him?”

If you have any boxes left over from the holidays,
you can turn them into fun games for your child.
Box Puzzle – This can work with any box, but a
left over heart candy box works especially well.
Set the bottom of the box on a piece of card board
and draw around the box. Cut out the box shape,
then cut the shape into a 4-6 piece puzzle.
Give the puzzle pieces and the box bottom to
your child and have her connect the puzzle pieces
inside the bottom of the box.
Salt Writing – pour salt into a medium sized box lid
(enough to cover the bottom of the box lid).
Show your child how to use his finger to write letters
or pictures in the salt.
To erase, your child can just shake the box lid.
