HAND PRINT SPIDERS
|
Place your toddlers hands on a piece of black paper, fingers spread apart. |
|
Draw around each hand and then cut out the hand shapes. |
|
Snip off the two thumbs and give the two remaining shapes to your child, along with some glue. |
|
Have your child spread glue on the palm section of one of the hand shapes. |
|
Then place the other palm section on top of the first, creating an eight-legged spider. |
|
Finally, help your child glue on two white circle for eyes and some white yarn for a mouth. |
|
Hang the spider on the wall, or hang from the ceiling for viewing.

SPIDER FINGER PUPPET
|
First, cut out a ½” x 3” strip of black paper. |
|
Put a glob of glue in the middle of the paper strip, then lay across the middle four, 2” pieces of black yarn, (for the spider’s legs). |
|
Then add a large 1” black pom to the center of the yarn, (for the body of the spider. |
|
Finally, wrap the black strip into a circle to fit your finger and secure the ends with tape. |
|
Use the puppet spider while you do the following activity with your child. |

CREEPY CRAWLY SPIDER
Put on the spider puppet and move it up and down your toddler’s body while you sing the following song.

SPOOKY SPIDER WEBS
|
Draw a spider web on a white piece of paper with a white crayon. |
|
Give the paper to your toddler along with some watered down black paint and a large paint brush. |
|
Have your toddler cover the paper with black paint to discover the spooky spider web. |
