SPOOKY SPIDERS

HAND PRINT SPIDERS
Place your toddlers hands on a piece of black paper, fingers spread apart.
Draw around each hand and then cut out the hand shapes.
Snip off the two thumbs and give the two remaining shapes to your child, along with some glue.
Have your child spread glue on the palm section of one of the hand shapes.
Then place the other palm section on top of the first, creating an eight-legged spider.
Finally, help your child glue on two white circle for eyes and some white yarn for a mouth.
Hang the spider on the wall, or hang from the ceiling for viewing.

Put a glob of glue in the middle of the paper strip, then lay across the middle four, 2” pieces of black yarn, (for the spider’s legs).
Then add a large 1” black pom to the center of the yarn, (for the body of the spider.
Finally, wrap the black strip into a circle to fit your finger and secure the ends with tape.
Use the puppet spider while you do the following activity with your child.

CREEPY CRAWLY SPIDER
Put on the spider puppet and move it up and down your toddler’s body while you sing the following song.

THERE’S A SPIDER ON YOUR NOSE
Tune”  “If You’re Happy And You Know It”

There’s a spider on your nose, on your nose.
There’s a spider on your nose, on your nose.
There’s a spider on your nose,
Let’s see where else it goes.
There’s a spider on your nose, on your nose.
