BOUNCING BABIES

BABY COLLAGES
Invite your children to cut or tear pictures of babies out of magazines. Then have them glue the pictures onto pieces of construction paper to make collages. Or have them work together to make a group collage on butcher paper.

SEE WHAT WE CAN DO NOW
Ask your children to name things they can do now that they couldn't do when they were babies, such as talk, walk, or ride a trike. Write down their responses on paper for them to illustrate. Then use their pictures to make a wall display for your room.

SMILE FOR THE BIRDIE

Make a bulletin board display that includes a baby photo of each of your children. Talk about the photos and invite the group to try to guess who's who. Then add current photos of your children, letting them help you place the matching baby photos and current photos together on the board. If you like, include photos of yourself, too.

ANIMAL BABIES
Find pictures of animal babies and their parents. Cut out the pictures and glue them onto separate cards. Then place the cards in a pile and invite your children to find the match-ups. Extend the activity by helping the children name the parent animals and their babies: dogs and puppies, horses and colts, sheep and lambs, and so forth.

BABY BOOK
Give each of your children a magazine picture of a baby glued onto a piece of paper. Ask the children to make up one- or two-sentence stories about the babies for you to write down underneath their pictures. Then fasten all of the papers together to make a Baby Book for your library corner.
