THE COLORING KIDS AT THE FARM

A Color Story by Jean Warren

The Color Kids rode out to the farm
And saw a sad, sad sight.
Everything here at the farm, they saw
Was colored the color of white.

This will not do, they both agreed.
Farms should be bright and gay.
So they whipped out their crayons, markers and pens
And started to color away.

They colored the barn, a bright, bright red.
Then, colored the duck pond blue.
They colored the ducks a sunny yellow
And colored the chicks yellow, too.

The pigs, they turned pink
And the horses brown.
The cows got black spots
And the rooster a red crown.

The fields they turned green
And the fences were gray.
Then they stopped.
They had had a long day.

Everyone cheered as they rode out of sight.
The Coloring Kids had made everything bright!
