Mary loved Fall. She loved the beautiful colors of the leaves
on the trees. But most of all she loved raking up the leaves
and jumping on them.
One year, Mary broke her leg and she had to sit inside as
the leaves fell. Mary loved watching the leaves change colors
and finally fall from the trees but she was sad that she could
not go out and play in the leaves.
Mary's dad did not want to see her so sad, so he gathered
up some leaves and placed them inside a cardboard box. Mary
was excited when she opened the box and saw her surprise.
Mary kept the box in her room and every day she tried to think
of something new to do with her beautiful fall leaves.

One day she made a leaf crown by gluing leaves onto
a paper headband. |
|
One day she taped leaves to ribbons and had her dad
help her hang them from her ceiling. |
|
One day, she crumbled up some of her leaves and then
sprinkled them onto a large leaf shape she had covered
with glue |
|
One day her mother cut the center out of a white paper
plate and Mary glued leaves around its edge making a wreath
of leaves. Mary found an old bow to also glue on. Mary
taped the wreath up in her room. |

One day Mary made a picture of her family using leaves
as people. Mary taped leaves on a piece of paper and then
drew arms and legs on with a black marking pen. |
