CUTTING HEARTS AND SNOWFLAKES

CUTTING HEARTS
Fold sheets of construction paper in half and draw half of a heart on each one.
Give the folded papers to your children.
Have them cut along the line on their papers.
When they are finished cutting, have them open their paper to reveal a heart.
Variation: Let children with more cutting experience fold and cut heart halves on their own.

CUTTING OUT SNOWFLAKES
First cut out white paper circles, approx. 8”, or use white paper doilies.
Show your child how to fold their circles in half and then in half again.
Next, show them how to cut paper notches along both folds.
When they open up their circles, they will resemble snowflakes.
Variation: Older children can fold their circles into sixths, (half and then thirds) before cutting.
