TURTLE BACK DESIGNS
Copy and cut out a large turtle shape from green paper for each of
your children. Here are two ways to decorate them.
- Give your children ¾" colored circles (the
kind found in the office supply section of a store). Let
them make a design using the circles on their turtle's back.
- Or - Have your children do a circle design on their turtle's
back using paint dobbers, such as Do-A-Dot. It would probably
be best to make the turtle on a light green paper

TURTLES
- Glue a small green plastic bowl upside-down on top of
a large green turtle cut out.
- Or - Cut out small egg cups from a cardboard eggs carton
and have your children paint them green. Then have them
glue them on top of small green felt or paper turtles.

COLOR MATCHING |
Make 10 light green turtles. |
Put dots on the backs of 5 turtles, using a different
color dot for each turtle. |
Make paper colored shells for the remaining 5
turtles, using the same 5 colors as the dots. |
Set out the 10 turtles on a table or floor and
have your children match up the plain backed turtles with the
dotted backed turtles. |
FELT BOARD
Make 5 green felt (or paper) turtles. |
Put red circles on the back on one. Then put yellow,
orange, blue and purple on the backs of the others. |
Pick a child and let him pick a turtle. |
Then, have everyone sing about this colored turtle.

COLORFUL TURTLES
Tune: "Doggie In The Window"
How much are the turtles in the window,
The ones with the colorful shells?
How much is the one with blue dots?
I think it is really quite swell.
(Child removes the blue turtle)
(Continue letting children choose a specific turtle for
everyone to sing about.
