FISH ACTIVITIES
RAINBOW FISH
  • Print and cut out a large fish for each of your children.
  • Have them make a rainbow fish by coloring their fish with a Do-A-Dot marker, or regular marker.
  • Have your children lay their colored fish on a large piece of throw-away paper and spray their fish with a small amount of water from a spray bottle. This will make the colors blend together.
SCALY FISH
  • Print out a medium or large fish for each of your children.
  • Give them silver circle stickers or cut your own circles out of silver paper. Aluminum foil paper works well.
  • Have your children place silver circles all over their fish (over-lapping if they want them to resemble scales.
  • You can cut the fish out and decorate both sides if you want. You can then hang the fish down with strings from the ceiling.

FISHING GAME

Print out a medium pattern and use it to make 6 - 10 gold paper fish.
Place a large paper clip on each fish.
Make a fishing pole from a wooden spoon, a string, and a small but strong magnet. (I like the small circle magnets).

Spread out the fish on the floor and let your children take turns catching fish. Have your children count the fish as they catch them.

ACQUARIUM
Use a small or medium pattern to make 2-3 different colored fish for each child.
Give the fish to your children along with a piece of blue construction paper and some glue.
Have your children decorate the fish if they want with crayons, then glue the fish onto the blue paper.
Next, give your children some green "Easter" grass to glue on for sea grass. Encourage your children to partially cover some of their fish with the grass.

FISH NUMBER RHYME

Make 5 felt fish and place them on a felt board. Have your children count them. Repeat the rhyme below removing a fish at the end of each stanza

FIVE LITTLE FISH

Five little fish, swimming on the ocean floor,
One swam off, then there were four.

Four little fish, swimming in the sea,
One swam off, then there were three.

Three little fish, swimming in the water blue.
One swam off, then there were two.

Two little fish, having lots of fun,
One swam off, then there was one.

One little fish, swimming all alone,
She decided to swim back home.
