APPLE NECKLACE
|
Using the small pattern, cut 1-4 apples for your child out
of red paper. |
|
Next, punch two holes at the top of each apple. |
|
Then, give your child a small piece of yarn and have him
lace the apples onto the yarn to make a necklace. [You can create
a needle on the yarn by wrapping one end with a small piece
of tape.]
|
|
STICK
PUPPET
|
Using the medium pattern, cut out a red apple for your child. |
|
Have her draw a face on the apple with a black marking pen
or crayon. |
|
Next, help her tape a craft stick to the bottom back of the
apple shape. |
|
You can also help her add arms by taping two short pieces
of yarn to the back sides of the apple. |
|
Have her place round stickers on the end of the yarn pieces
for hands. |
|
WORM PUPPET
|
Using the medium pattern, cut an apple out of heavy red paper
for your child. |
|
Then, somewhere on the apple, cut out a finger hole. |
|
Have your child hold up the apple and when someone
gets close have him stick his finger through the hole in the
apple, pretending to be a worm. |
WALKING
PUPPET
|
Make the puppet just like you would the worm puppet
but instead of one finger hole, put two finger holes at
the bottom of the apple. |
|
You child can use this puppet by placing two fingers
in the holes and "walking" their apple puppet
around. |
|
LARGE APPLE FUN
|
Cut an apple out of white paper and
let your child tear pieces of red paper to glue onto the
shape. |
|
Or - cut an apple out of red paper
and glue on pictures of words that begin with the letter
"A". |
|
Or - Cut out two red apples for each
child and use them for book covers. Make a storybook,
Alphabet book, number book or whatever kind of book your
child would like.
|
|
Make a large green felt board in
the shape of a tree and place two red felt apples on the
tree. |
|
Recite the following rhyme as you
place apples on and take them off of the felt board. |
|
TWO LITTLE APPLES
Two little apples
Up in the tree,
One for you
And one for me.
I shook that tree
As hard as I could
And down came the apples,
M-m-m they were good!
Or make 4 red felt apples and recite the following number
rhyme with your child.
FOUR RED APPLES
Four red apples on the tree,
One fell down, then there were three.
Three red apples, shinny and new,
One fell down, now there are two.
Two red apples, under the sun,
One fell down, now there is one.
One red apple, now I see.
When it falls down, no more apples on the tree!
