HAWAIIAN RAINBOWS
Here is a hula chant for your children to do hand motions to

Hawaiian rainbows
They call to me 
Reach from the mountains, 
Down to the sea. 

Hawaiian sunshine 
It calls to me 
It warms the sand
Down by the sea.

Hawaiian waves
They call to me
I love to ride them
Down by the sea.

Hawaiian breezes
They call to me
They sway the Palms
Down by the sea.

Hawaiian sunsets
They call to me
They paint the sky  
Down by the sea.

Hawaiian dances
They swing and sway
They bring the islands
To you today!
 


(Put hand up to mouth)
(Point hands up into a peak)
(Make wave motions in front of you)

(Make round sun overhead)
(Put hand up to mouth)
(Make hand go flat across in front of you)
(Make wave motions in front of you)

(Make wave motions in front of you)
(Put hand up to mouth)
(Pretend to be balancing on surf board)
(Make wave motions in front of you)

(Palms out in front, move back and forth)
(Put hand up to mouth)
(Arms out like palm leafs, sway back and forth)
(Make wave motions in front of you)

(Hand over top of eyes)
(Put hand up to mouth)
(One arm reaches up and makes an arc)
(Make wave motions in front of you)

(Both hands out to one side, then the other)
(Put hands on hips and move hips side to side)
(Cup hands and move arms outward)
(Point finger out to others)
 

RAINBOW PARADE
Tune:  “When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again”

The children are marching into town, hooray, hooray.
The children are dressed like rainbows as they come our way.
Some wear orange, yellow or red,
Some wear rainbows on their heads.
Oh, we’re oh so glad that the children could come today.

Some hold prisms as they come our way.
Some wear purple, green or blue.
Some wave rainbow streamers, too.

From big gray clouds
The raindrops fell.

Until the sun
Changed them all
Into a rainbow day!
