FALL LEAVES
Down, down, yellow and brown,
Fall the leaves over the ground.
Rake them up in a pile so high,
Until they reach up to the sky.
Adapted Traditional |
LEAVES ARE DRIFTING
Leaves are drifting softly down,
They make a carpet on the ground.
Then, swish! The wind comes rushing by,
And sends them dancing, way up high.

DANCING LEAVES
Tune: “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”
Let’s join hands and circle round
As we watch the leaves fall down.
See them twirling, here and there.
See them dancing, everywhere.
Move your hands like falling leaves,
Watch them twirling, in the breeze.

ALL THE LEAVES ARE FALLING DOWN
Tune: “London Bridges Falling Down”
All the leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down. (Imitate leaves falling down)
All the leaves are falling down, it is Fall.
Take the rake and rake them up, rake them up, rake them up. (Imitate raking up leaves)
Take the rake and rake them up, it is Fall.
Make a pile and jump right in, jump right in, jump right in. (Children jump forward)
Make a pile and jump right in, it is Fall.

FALLING
LEAVES
Tune: "London Bridges Falling Down"
Pretty leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down.
Pretty leaves are falling down, all over town.
Some are orange and some are brown, some are brown, some are brown.
Some are orange and some are brown, watch the leaves fall down.
Some are yellow and some are red, some are red, some are red.
Some are yellow and some are red, leaves fall on my head.

FALL TREE
Tune: "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"
Stand up tall and spread your limbs.
You're a fall tree in the wind.
Move your branches all around,
Pretty leaves falling down.
Some are brown and some are red.
Time for you to go to bed.
(Have your children act out the song with their bodies, then pretend
to go to sleep at the end.)

PICKING UP NUTS
Tune: “Down Yonder In The Paw, Paw Patch”
Picking up nuts and put them in your tree hole,
Picking up nuts and put them in your tree hole,
Picking up nuts and put them in your tree hole,
Busy, busy squirrel!
Saving his nuts, ‘til it is winter,
Saving his nuts, ‘til it is winter,
Saving his nuts, ‘til it is winter,
Busy, busy squirrel!

BUSY, BUSY SQUIRRELS
Tune: "When Johnny Come Marching Home Again"
The squirrels are busy running 'round, today, today.
They are hiding all their nuts - away, away.
Up in trees, and in the ground.
Hiding nuts all around.
Oh, they work so hard.
So later, they can play.
