Monkeys, hippos, tigers, too.

The elephants thumped,
The kangaroos jumped.
And that was just the start of my day-

[Let children take turns and name an animal to sing about – such as]

I have seen an elephant,

I have seen an elephant,
Who lives down at the zoo.

Oh, there are lots of animals, that live down at the zoo.

Monkeys swinging from the trees.
We are going to the zoo,

Snakes are crawling through the jungle,

Parrots squawking, lions roaring,
Stop and look around.
