I RAN WITH THE WIND
Happy the days when I ran with the wind,
Bursting with joy and laughter within.
Happy the days when I danced in the sun,
Twirling and whirling and prancing in fun.
Happy the days when I leaped through the air,
Agile and quick – delight without care.
Then came the day when I ran to the test,
Matched with my friends to see who was the best.
Gone now the agile, delight without care.
Gone now the days when I leap through the air.
Gone now the twirling and whirling in fun.
Gone now the days when I dance in the sun.
Gone now the joy and laughter within.
Gone now the days that I run with the wind.
