THE GIFT OF WINGS
Now I know the reason why
Each of us has yearned to fly.
We were born with wings, you see
Except our wings grow inwardly.
Our bodies cannot on their own
Fly right off to parts unknown.
Yet we can travel anywhere
Our minds can think of, dream or dare.
These wings of ours, they set us free
To fly beyond what we can see.
These wings of ours, our minds they lift
Inward wings, our special gift!
