Take six pancakes and mark six with different shapes on one side. |
Then mark another six with the same six shapes. |
Turn the pancakes over and mix them up. |
Let children take turns turning over two pancakes with a pancake turner. |
If they turn over two pancakes with identical shapes on their backs, they get to keep the pancakes. |
If they turn over two pancakes that are different, they must turn them back over. |
Children soon learn to try to remember where different shapes are located.
