OUTDOOR MOVEMENT GAMES

RUNNING THROUGH THE GRASS
This activity can be done on a nice sunny day outdoors, or you can do the same things inside and just pretend that you are outside. Have your child take off his shoes and socks and run through the grass in his bare feet.
Does it feel good?
Does it tickle your feet?
Can you roll in the grass?
Have your child lay down, stretch out and roll across the grass. Join him if you are adventurous.

WHAT'S IN THE GRASS?
Have your child roll over and peer down into the grass.
What can she find?
Does anyone live in the grass?
Who likes to play in the grass?

INSECTS IN THE GRASS

Children love to pretend to be insects. Encourage your child to act out some common insects, we sometimes find in grass.

Ants like to march through the grass. Let's be ants and march together across the grass.
Caterpillars like to crawl through the grass. Let's hook together and crawl through the grass.
Beetles like to scurry through the grass. Can you scurry without bumping anything.?
Grasshoppers like to hop through the grass. Let's hop across the grass like grasshoppers.
Bees like to fly across the grass smelling flowers and clover. Let's hook on our wings, turn on our buzzers and fly across the top of the grass looking for flowers.

GRASS FAVORITES
Let your child decide what they like to do best on the grass and act it out.
