Your children will enjoy making and eating these fun bug snacks.
ANTS ON A LOG
|
Wash and clean some celery stalks. |
|
Cut them in half and fill with cream cheese or cheese spread. |
|
Let your child place 4-5 raisins on top.
|
|
LADYBUG CRACKERS
|
Spread strawberry cream cheese on large circle crackers. |
|
Let your child place a thin strip of licorice down the middle of the cracker. |
|
Then have your child place four raisins on each side of the center line. |
|
SANDWICH BUTTERFLIES
|
Make your child his favorite sandwich. |
|
Then cut the sandwich in-half diagonally. |
|
Place a slice of pickle or a ½ stock of celery down the middle of a plate. |
|
Place the sandwich on either side of the middle item, with the sandwich point, pointing inward.

|
CATERPILLERS
|
Set out some grapes lined up on a lettuce leaf for a caterpillar snack. |
|
Or spread cream cheese on a cracker and have your child place five green peas across the middle. |
|
BUG OR SPIDERS
|
Set out some prunes and some small pretzels. |
|
Show your child how to poke three or four pretzels on either side of a prune.
|
|
BEE SNACKS
|
Spread some honey on a graham cracker for a bee snack. |
|
Or – dip carrot sticks in some honey for a snack. |
