HOLIDAY HEADBANDS

HOLLY HEADBANDS
Cut out a 1 ½” x 16” strip of paper, for a headband.
Cut out 2-3” inch holly leaves from green paper for your child.

Set out the leaves, the headband and some glue.

Have your child glue 6-10 leaves onto her headband.
Then give her some red paper circles (or small red poms) to glue on for holly berries.
Wrap headband around your child’s head to size and tape in place.

CANDLE HEADBANDS – For St Lucia Day
Give your child a 1 ½” strip of red paper for the headband.
Set out some glue and then give your child 5 paper candles to glue around the headband.
Then give him some small 1” x 1 ½” strips of green tissue paper.
Have your child glue the tissue paper strips on the headband candles, overlapping the strips as he goes.

CANDLE HEADBANDS – For Hanukkah

Give your child a 1 ½” strip of blue paper for a headband.

Then give him one large paper candle to glue in the middle of her headband and four smaller paper candles to glue on each side of the larger middle candle.

SANTA HEADBAND
Provide a red 2” headband for your child.
Set out some glue and small cotton balls, for him to glue along the bottom of his headband.

GARLAND HEADBANDS
Check out dollar stores for holiday garlands.
Use the garland as the headband.
Cut a length that will wrap around your child’s head and tape the ends together.
Children like the sparkly garlands the best.

KWANZA HEADBANDS
Give your child a yellow headband 2” wide.
Set out some marking pens and show your child how to make a colorful design all along his headband.
I like a simple zig-zag line repeated every inch with colorful dots in between.

CHAIN HEADBANDS
You can make these for any occasion, just by changing the colors of the links.
Have your children make a paper chain, approximately 14” long, from 1” x 2” paper strips.
You could use, red and green strips for Christmas, blue and yellow strips for Hanukkah and red, black, red and green for Kwanza

HOLIDAY STICKER HEADBANDS
Set out headbands for your children.
Let them place holiday stickers on the headband.

CONFETTI HEADBANDS
Set out paper headbands and some glue.
Have your child cover her headband with glue.
Then provide some paper confetti and a box lid.
Have your child place her headband in the lid and sprinkle confetti all over the headband.
Shake off excess confetti and tape ends together for your child.
These are great to celebrate New Years.
