HOLIDAY CHAINS

Here are some fun new ways to spice up holiday chains.

COTTON BALL CHAINS
Give your children red paper strips and some glue.
Have children glue links together.
Then have him glue a cotton ball on top of the overlapped ends.

WRAPPING PAPER CHAINS
Cut chain links out of pieces of wrapping paper.
Have children use all of one kind or mix up the links with different designs.
These are very colorful
Variation: Links cut form color pages of magazines also look nice.

CHAIN PATTERNING
Set out three colors of link strips. Such as; red, green and gold.

Have your children connect one of each color and then repeat their pattern, again and again.

MARBLED CHAINS
Set out plain white chain links.
Set out paint trays for each child.
Put a small glob of red paint and one of green paint on each tray.
Give each child a craft stick.
Have children stir the paint together.
Then one at a time, have your children lay their paper strips in the paint, creating different designs.
Let each child make 3-4 links.
When dry, have children take turns hooking all the links together into a Marbled Chain.

GLITTER GLUE CHAINS
Set out colored chain links and glitter glue pens.
Let your children make simple designs on 4-5 chains.
When dry, have children take turns hooking all the links together into a chain.
