PAPER CUP ART

CIRCLE ART

Set out two sizes of paper cups.

Place a folded paper towel on two small plates and pour different colored paints onto each plate.
Show your toddler how to dip a paper cup onto a paint pad and then press it down onto a piece of white paper.
Encourage your child to use both cups and both paint pads to create a circle picture.

PAPER CUP PUPPETS
Poke a small hole on the side of a plain colored paper cup.
Draw a face on the side of the cup with the hole as the nose.
Have your toddler stick her hand into the cup and poke a finger out through the nose hole.

PAPER CUP SHAKERS
Take a paper cup and add a few dried beans.
Then glue or tape another cup, up-side-down on top of the first cup.
Give the cup shaker to your toddler and let him add colorful seasonal stickers to the sides of the shaker.

PAPER CUP FLOWERS
Take a paper cup and starting at the top rim, cut down to the base.
Repeat the cuts about every inch or half-inch around the top rim.
Let your toddler help you flatten the cup into a flower shape.
Give your child a piece of construction paper and have her glue the flower shape onto the paper.
Finally, have her add some glue to the center of the flower, then sprinkle on some confetti, beans, glitter or a large colored pom, to finish off the center of the flower.

PAPER CUP BASKETS

Give a plain colored paper cup to your child.
Set out some small paper flower shapes and some glue.
Have your child clue the flower shapes onto the sides of the cup.
Add a Chenille or ribbon handle to the basket.
Variation: Have your child place theme stickers on the sides of small paper cups to use as party candy cups.
