BORDER STRIPS

Border Strips are fun and easy for preschoolers to make and you can use them to decorate your room. Border strips are made from 2” x 12” strips of paper. You can cut your own from construction paper or you can use strips of adding machine tape.

STAMPING BORDERS

Let your preschoolers take turns using a stamp pad and rubber stamps.

Examples: leave stamps for fall, snowmen for winter, flowers for spring, fish for summer.
 
3-D BORDERS
Let your children glue small objects onto the boarder strips.
Examples: real leaves, feathers, cotton balls, small shells, seeds.
 
COLOR BORDERS
Have your preschoolers create a color collage on their paper strip.
Set out collage materials of one color for your children to glue onto their strip.
Examples: red poms, red feathers, red pieces of shinny paper, red stickers, red paper flowers.
 
NUMBER BORDERS
Pick a number such as two.
Set out some small objects and have your children glue multiple sets of two on their strip.
Examples: toothpicks, felt circles, plastic bread ties, small shells, packing peanuts, etc.
