DRY LEAF PICTURES

Dry fall leaves. |
|
Let your children help crush leaves into small
pieces. |
|
Cut out simple leaf shapes. |
|
Have children spread glue on a leaf shape. |
|
Then, have them sprinkle crushed leaves over
the glue. |
|
Hang leaves on the wall or on crepe paper strips
from some place high. |

| LEAF PUPPET

|
Draw a face on a fall leaf. |
|
Glue or tape a large craft stick to the back of the
leaf. |

Let your child or children hold the puppets while
you sing a fall leaf song. |
| DANCING LEAVES
Have your child or children pretend to be twirling
dancing leaves as you sing the following song to the
tune of “Kookaburra”
Pretty Fall leaves, in the breeze
Twirling down, from the trees.
Dance pretty leaves,
Dance pretty leaves,
Dancing in the breeze.

PILE
OF LEAVES
|
Rake up a pile of leaves (if you can) |
|
Let your children play and fall down
on the pile. |
|
LEAF SORT
| |
Collect four fall leaves from two different
kinds of trees. |

Mix up the leaves in a pile on the floor. |
| |
Let your children take turns sorting
the leaves into two piles by type of leaf. |
| Variation: As children get
better at this activity, add leaves from
a third and fourth tree. |
