CARNIVAL GAMES
These carnival games are great for developing coordination skills with preschoolers.

FEED THE CLOWN
Draw a large clown face on the side of a large cardboard box.
Cut out a large 8” x 8” open mouth on the clown.
Set out some beanbags, or small sponges.
Let your children take turns tossing the objects into the clown’s mouth.
How many did they get in?
Give out small snack prizes or stickers.

BOWLING
Collect empty large plastic soda bottles.
Set out ten bottles in a triangle shape (like real bowling) on the floor.
Set out a medium sized rubber ball.
Let your children take turns rolling the ball and counting the number of pins they knock over.
Let each child have two rolls per turn.

RING THE PEG
You will need five medium sized plastic margarine lids, a flower pot and a wooden spoon for this activity.
Cut the centers from the lids to make rings.
Fill the flowerpot with dirt and stick the wooden spoon in the dirt with the large end in the dirt.  This will give you a peg for the children to attempt to ring in the game.
Set out the pot and the rings.
Let your children take turns tossing the rings and trying to ring the peg.

FISHING
You will need a wooden spoon, some string and a horseshoe magnet for this game.
First cut out some paper fish shapes, approximately 6” long.
Attach a paper clip to the mouth end of each fish.
Lay the fish on the floor.
Now, take the wooden spoon and tie on the string.
Attach the magnet to the other end of the string to make a fishing pole.
Let your children take turns fishing.
How many can they catch in two minutes?
